A
More Complete Summing Up for all of CE South’s Lines
As our DNA
results confirm, we Souths are mainly English. CE South’s lines altogether have
38 lines with English immigrant origins. In the Souths I found four Welsh
lines, two Dutch lines, three French lines, two or four Scots lines (two
disputed), one Irish line, and one German line. Of course there are a number of
lines for which we don’t know the immigrant ancestor. And lacking information, I have skipped a few
lines, mainly, ashamedly, wives’ lines, because women just didn’t have the
number of records that men did. Several of our lines began with immigrant indentured
servants. Given the time period, there must have been more Revolutionary War
soldiers, but I can only find ten whose service seems to have good proof.
